I would like to backup all Folders/Mails that are stored locally under »On my Mac« in Mac Outlook 2016. I don’t want to backup the complete Outlook Profile over and over again. Instead only archived messages that are moved to the »On my Mac« section should be backed up. As far as I can see, they are mixed up with all my Exchange/IMAP accounts in /Users/me/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles/Main Profile/Message Sources and also /Users/me/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles/Main Profile/Messages Unfortunately it’s not possible to create a local archive on a separate volume e.g. On Windows Outlook (PST File). Where does Mac Outlook 2016 stores Mails (On my Mac)? This is a total nightmare for system administrations.
This is the Mac Outlook 2016 Location on Local System: /Users//Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles/Main Profile/Data/MessageSources These files are actually known as OLK File, & within these folders: 1. OLK14 MESSAGE file = stores only header information 2. OLK14 MSGSOURCE = stores email message with attachments where, attachments are stored in another OLK Folder namely, (OLKMSGAttach) Since, all these email parts are stored separately, it's not possible to access data within OLK, unless you have any supported Viewer. Suggestion: It is recommended to take archive of Outlook 2016 data: To Archive Outlook 2016 data:.
Go to Tools Export Option. The Select Items: Mails, Calendars, Contacts, tasks, Journal.
Then manually save Data to any destination Location that you want. Please let me know, if this resolves your query Thanks & Regards, Bradley.
Neither Microsoft Outlook 2011, 2016, 2019, nor 365 for Mac offer creation of email signatures from HTML. Only a rich-text editing box is provided, without the ability for more customization. HTML Email Signature - Outlook enhances these capabilities by allowing customized creation of email signatures from HTML. Simply type in a name for your signature, add your HTML, and your signature is created! A button to preview the HTML is also available.
READ BEFORE PURCHASING. Valid HTML must be provided. This is not a design utility.
Issues with formatting and/or appearance of the final signature are directly tied to the HTML code. An installed version of Microsoft Outlook (2011, 2016, 2019, 365) is required for this application to function. Affine, Does what it says! Super simple utility but works great.
They warn you about needing to know HTML but if you have a signature in Word already formatted, it offers an option to copy as HTML and create the tags for you. Create your signature as you want it to look in Word first then copy it in as HTML (paste and select the option to copy as HTML) and take a look at the preview and it will be the same. Easy to use and looks great. Make sure in “Composing” preferences in Outlook for Mac that you also have it set to use HTML as the default for new emails or it will show as plain text. CometWaves, Alt Text, missing first character I am not blaming this App, only Microsoft Outlook.
When I have alt text in email signature, the first letter is missing in the alt text description. Any suggestions?
Developer Response, Hi CometWaves - would you be willing to share your raw HTML code with us at [email protected]? Would be happy to investigate.
We can at least confirm within the signature file if the HTML was transferred properly or if it is an MS Outlook bug in handling it:). BEHJR, Did Not Address My Issue I purchased this thinking this would solve an issue we are having with Outlook not embedding our company logo with our siganture blocks. Email receiptents are still not able to see the logosthey just get an “?” or “x” where the logo should appear.
Developer Response, A few help articles are provided below to answer your questions and provide guidance on the issues you face. Designing HTML to be compliant with all email clients can be a challenge and is a technical specialty. The app can only import the HTML you provide. The 'Preview' function is just to show you what it may look like, but ultimately, how the HTML is parsed is decided by MS Outlook. If you have additional concerns, please reach out to us at [email protected]!
