There is some minor oxidation on the metal pieces including the back of the tuners. We are selling this as a display piece, or for restoration or parts. It would have to be swelled, then glued& clamped by someone with knowledge in guitar restoration. And some of the neck binding is coming loose. more This would be a great piece for display as-is, and would be an awesome project to fix up and play! Condition: There is a big wood separation down the back of the seam of the neck. There are open backed tuning keys and a very cool Teisco Del Rey badge on headstock. The neck features some great inlays that are just tabs on the upper side of the fretboard, with inlaid tabs on both sides of the fretboard at the 12th fret. It has a relatively normal body shape for a Teisco, and has one pickup at the neck and it appears to have a tremelo bridge. It features a double cut, solid body with a beautiful brown and black sunburst. So it is being sold for parts or restoration, and it would look great as-is hanging on your wall! This guitar is a rare model, and I haven't successfully identified the model number. Item Photos, Item Photos, DETAILS Vintage 1960's Teisco Del Rey Single Pickup Guitar Beautiful Brown Sunburst For Restoration This listing is for a vintage Teisco Del Rey guitar. May have to ship neck off to some destinations. Ships in US $30 or less- overseas check below and calculate. By the way, there was a guy in the UK recently trying for over $500 for the bass version of this- I have no such illusions- starting it low and we'll see what happens. so you ladies looking for a flashy stage or video guitar might want to think about this. It's definitely an eye-catcher, and it only. Remember we're talking Resistance here, not Inductance- factors such as larger wire can make a unit read low- they sound fine- typical Teisco.

Pickups ohm out at about 2.5K each and they appear to be in series when both are on. No fret or play wear- such damage as there is appears to be from age and storage issues. The neck scale is about 23 1/2" and it's dead straight and easy to play- not big and clunky. It has a little finish damage to the points- like all pointy guitars- and there are 2 extra holes- now plugged and touched up, on the edge where someone moved the strap buttons around. Hardware, and especially the stripey aluminum guard are Teisco hallmarks. This Jetson's-looking thing is a 60's Teisco product branded Kingston- imported by Westheimer of NY.

Very snarly and has a really nice bite that in Posted with Soundwise its what you woudl expect from this era Japan guitar. more It is playable up and down as well but you can tell the previous owner set it up for slide. Neck itself has some relief in it(there is no truss rod adjustment) and with the new taller nut it's more set up for slide with higher action. Frets are smaller profile and do show wear but still retain a playable profile. Has a really cool looking metal mirror finish pickguard. There's one tone and one voume control and a slider switch labeled treble/solo. Has 2 pickups each with an on/off rocker switch. Electronics are a bit scratchy but all does work. The"B" and high"E" string plastic tuner bushings are missing.
